Reborn Foundation: A Journey of Growth and Transformation

In 2017, Diego took a leap of faith, leaving his home country with two friends, a really broken English and just $1,000 in his pocket to explore Southeast Asia. Inspired to motivate others, he decided to launch a YouTube channel called Reborn to show people that everything is possible if you go out of your comfort zone and put in the work. His goal was to document his journey toward making his dream of traveling the world a reality.

After traveling through Thailand and Bali, Diego arrived in Vietnam, with absolutely no money left. He decided to go against the odds, stay and work as a freelance personal trainer, which he had experience doing back in Mexico. In 2019, feeling constrained by gym regulations, he decided to start his own business. He found a place that was perfect but the rent was 4 times the budget he had in his mind. He only had 2,000 usd in savings that was just enough for the deposit. Being promised by one of his trainees to lend him money to buy the equipment, things took an unexpected turn when that money never got to him. Having already signed contract and payed all the money he had for deposit, Diego found himself in a really tough situation. He decided to contact Patricia, another trainee (a life saving one) who without hesitation, agreed to lend him the 5,000 usd he needed to get started.

Excited to finally be able to start his own business, now Diego just needed to come up with a name. He started reflecting what this project meant to him, and he remembered the reason why he left home, to explore the world, to motivate others to go after what they want through hard work and dedication. In that moment, the name just came to him, he decided to name his first gym "Reborn".

However, 5,000 usd was barely enough to buy basic equipment, so Diego spent the next 8 months sleeping on a thin mat because the gym’s income was just enough to cover the expenses and loan payments. Whatever was left, he used it to buy more equipment.

When finally the gym was becoming profitable, the COVID-19 pandemic hit, and that’s when Diego met Wendy. She was working for a company that was paying her double to what Diego could offer her. However, driven by a shared vision of creating a wellness center that supports people physically, mentally, and emotionally, she joined Diego. Together, they worked to transform Reborn into a thriving wellness center dedicated to help people to “redefine themselves”.

Today, Reborn is more than just a gym. It's a community where people come to focus on self-improvement, strive to be better everyday and seek support from like minded people.
